We have Wet Leg sitting in the HOT SPOT yet again, with their ace new track “Wet Dream,” which they say is a break up song. By the way, they had 3 million streams on “Chaise Longue,” and we think that’s because of us 😉

We played “Hit em Where it Hurts” on WHOOOSH! 16 and clearly, Rodney has got what it takes!
Paw Paw Rod, aka Rodney Hulsey, is a rapper and singer from the Great Plains tornado belt of Oklahoma. A review called this track, “Glass House,” alternative R&B, and that’s right on. He says, “My new song ‘Glass House’ is about accepting what you can and can’t change about your situation, and finding peace in that. Hopefully things are starting to get back to some version of normal soon. I want ‘Glass House’ to be our anthem”
In this week’s HOT SPOT is The Cool Greenhouse with their very unique song, “Alexa!”
We’ve never had a song about an amazon device before… There was something super-DEVO about the song and so funny – “Alexa, order a copy of Cool Green House’s new record” “Hey Google, play the song ‘Alexa’ by the cool greenhouse.” Kudo’s to Tom Greenhouse on his band and great track!
CHAI are a Japanese rock band from Nagoya. The group consists of four women—Mana, Kana, Yuuki and Yuna. Formed in 2012, the band released their debut studio album Pink in 2017. “PING PONG!” is off of their latest album, WINK. About this new album Mana says, they worked on cultivating an album she described as “more than a human friend — someone you can go to when you’re upset, someone you go to when you’re happy, when you wake up first thing in the morning, when you want to cry.” And that’s why they’re in this week’s HOT SPOT!
Isle of Wight duo Wet Leg – that’s Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers to you – are in this week’s Hot Spot with the incredible track, “Chaise Longue.”. From their bio: ‘Arming themselves with guitars, a penchant for French disco, effervescent imaginations and a shared love of the The Ronettes and Jane Birkin, through to Ty Segall and Bjork, they set about making some recordings of their own.’ Whatever it is, it’s good!
Nashville’s Terry Presume is unapologetically himself in every song he releases. Blending indie, alternative, hip hop, and rock, he has been making music that is unique to him. He grew up surrounded by Haitian Kompa music from his mom, and the sounds of 50 Cent, Eminem and classic R&B that was heard throughout his community. His song, “ZaZa and Some Runtz (Smoke Break)” is in this week’s HOT SPOT.

“Yellow Lines” by Tommy Newport is in the HotSpot!
Born in Manchester, England, Tommy Newport (Oliver Milmine) relocated to the United States with his family at six years old where he bounced around from Dallas to Seattle before settling down in Wichita, Kansas. Produced by Newport alongside his frequent collaborator 4th Pyramid (Black Eyed Peas, Wu-Tang Clan), the track has a brit rock essence in the way he sings.
Sneaks is Eva Moolchan, an American spoken word and post-punk musician from Washington, D. C. She used to be in a band called the Sh*tstains, which piqued our interest if we’re being honest. She has been releasing music as Sneaks since 2014. Simon is a Scorpio, and this track seems very complimentary to having a relationship with a Scorpio….listen to “Scorpio on Your Side.”
Dope Lemon is an Australian artist, which kind of makes a lot of sense to us. Singer Angus Stone was one half of the musical sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone, with whom he has released four studio albums with but now he records under the name Dope Lemon and this is his song, “Rose Pink Cadillac.”
